The new high speed railway links London and the Channel Tunnel to Birmingham and Lichfield with extensions connecting to Manchester, Leeds and further north together with Heathrow. Current projections are for the Birmingham route to open in 2026 with the Heathrow, Manchester and Leeds lines opening in approximately 2032.
