Renewable energy sees a professional turnout in Lincolnshire

November 2014

Pyewipe open evening
On 29 October, the renewable energy sector held its second open day event, this time at Pyewipe Farm near Great Coates, North East Lincolnshire.

Sporting an operational 500kW wind turbine, infrastructure for a second 900kW wind turbine, a 50kW roof-mounted solar PV, and a renewable heat scheme, this event followed the hugely successful open evening held in Leicestershire in July.

On this occasion, the event was hosted jointly with Wilkin Chapman LLP, a well-recognised legal firm with 8 offices across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.  Whilst numbers were down, compared to the Leicestershire event, it still attracted a pleasing turn out of landowners and professionals, including bankers, accountants and even a fellow surveyor!

Darren Edwards, of the Market Harborough office, commented “we have already received some really positive feedback from those who attended the Pyewipe Farm open evening and some potential new instructions.

It serves to demonstrate that getting people out to see the fruits of our labour first hand can be an effective and reasonably cost efficient marketing technique.  Certainly, a few eyes lit up when I announced the returns the 500kW turbine had generated in the first two years of operation!”.
