Promotion for anaerobic digestion expert

August 2014

renewable energy news
An expert in anaerobic digestion has been promoted by chartered surveyors and specialist property consultants Fisher German.

Agribusiness consultant David Kinnersley, who has been appointed local partner, joined Fisher German in 2008. David is one of the UK’s leading specialists on anaerobic digestion – a process which converts waste and energy crops into heat and power – and he provides advice to a range of clients across the UK.

He also manages farms for clients which involves looking after contracts, single payment scheme issues, farm diversification and giving advice on recruitment as well as giving strategic reviews and re-structuring advice. David will continue to be based from three Fisher German offices in Blackpole East in Worcester, South Bar in Banbury and High Street in Thame.

David, who lives near to Stratford, said anaerobic digestion was a fast-growing element of the business as farmers continue to look at renewable energy as an alternative income stream.
“Anaerobic digestion and renewable energy in general is an increasing area of work at Fisher German,” he said.

We carry out feasibility studies for clients, negotiate leases and supply agreements, and carry out due diligence for banks to raise finance for projects.

Herefordshire and Shropshire have been particular hot-spots recently but I am currently involved in projects all over the country ranging from Scotland to Cumbria and Kent to Lincolnshire.

It is really interesting and very satisfying to see it all taking shape. More and more farmers are considering anaerobic digestion because as well as an alternative energy resulting in lower costs, it is reducing carbon emissions and the amount of waste that is taken to landfill sites.

Another part of my work is to manage farms for clients which involves managing contracts surrounding providing labour and machinery and making sure they have the right financial arrangements in place.

I am pleased to have gained this promotion and look forward to developing relationships with new and old clients.”

Richard Sanders, senior partner at Fisher German, said this was a well-deserved promotion for David: “It is no coincidence we are gaining more and more work from the renewable energy sector because of the tremendous work David and his colleagues carry out,” he said.

David has quite rightly earned a reputation as one of the UK’s experts on anaerobic digestion due to his extensive knowledge and experience in the sector and we wish him every success in his new role.”
