Increased likelihood of grant aid on Grade II Listed buildings

November 2011

English Heritage grade 2 listed

English Heritage's recent announcement that they intend to collection information on Grade II Listed buildings may increase the chances of grant aid for these buildings.

In addition to their existing ‘At Risk Register’ of Grade 1 and II* Buildings, English Heritage have recently announced that they intend to collect information on the condition of all Grade II Listed Buildings:

It is anticipated that this will increase the likelihood of Grade II Listed Buildings being grant aided. That said, it should be noted that English Heritage have recently withdrawn their grant programme for all non-ecclesiastical buildings.

The Heritage Lottery Fund are now the principal grant providers for Buildings at Risk as well as other Heritage Assets, including, as reported previously, Assets with limited public access.
