Emma graduated from the University of Lincoln with a BA(Hons) in Interior Architecture and Design. She then went on to become a Village Allocations Associate for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Ltd where she was heavily involved in the organisation of the Olympic Village. She joined Fisher German in 2013 and provides mapping and architectural services to our Ashby and Market Harborough offices. She is involved with refurbishments and new developments including residential units and traditional agricultural buildings and has experience with AutoCAD and measured surveys. Emma also has experience with a number of mapping programs including MapInfo, PEAR Technology and ArcGIS. Emma is now working towards obtaining full membership to the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

His work is a mixture of professional and project work, including building surveys of residential and commercial properties, schedules of condition and dilapidations. The project work includes all aspects of design, specification, tendering and contract administration of construction projects. Tom is particularly interested in Building Conservation and is currently working towards the RICS Building Conservation Accreditation.

With in excess of 20 years’ experience in property and construction, Richard has wide ranging knowledge in all building surveying disciplines including dilapidations, party wall awards, and design and contract administration of refurbishment, extension, new build and conversion projects. More recently, Richard has provided expert witness services for various building related disputes. In his time an enthusiastic sportsman, nowadays Richard’s involvement is mainly as a spectator. Richard’s spare time is spent attempting to lower his golf handicap and carrying out building works at his home in Ashby.

Amy’s role involves assisting the National Planning, Construction & Development department in all aspects of its work including land appraisals, planning applications and appeals, land sales and marketing campaigns. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations, Amy worked on policy events across a range of policy areas for the Industry and Parliament Trust in Westminster prior to joining Fisher German. Starting in 2017, she will be studying a masters in Planning and Development at the Nottingham Trent University. Having moved back from London to her home town of Ashbourne, in Derbyshire, she really appreciates the countryside and likes going on walks and runs in the Peak District. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, going to the theatre and loves indulging in Greek culture.

Luke joined Fisher German’s Development team in September 2014 and is involved with providing advice on development matters, with a particular focus on residential land. Working across the UK, Luke advises on the various development options, including conditional contracts, strategic agreements, and disposal of consented sites. Luke benefits from five years’ experience, the majority of which was gained working for a privately owned property investment and development firm with a nationwide remit, acting on a variety of large residential led mixed use schemes. His work has covered the full development cycle from formulating and negotiating deals, site feasibility, financial appraisal, legal negotiation, scheme design and delivery managing multi-disciplinary teams, and disposal. Outside work, Luke enjoys all sports, watching and playing, in particular American football and rugby union, playing for Southwell RFC.

Paul started his career in the construction industry and became a time served carpenter and joiner before moving on to train in construction site management. A degree in building surveying at the University of Reading followed in the early 1990's. On graduation Paul joined the National Trust and was fortunate to work and learn on the continuing repair of some of the finest houses and estates in the Midlands region. Paul is accredited in conservation by RICS. Paul left the National Trust in 2002 to set up his own practice specialising in the conservation of listed buildings,defect analysis and dilapidation's work. Paul cites some of his more interesting work as the survey of timber framed buildings in Port Stanley historic dockyard for the Falklands Islands government. Paul has been able to combine the work of his early career with his professional qualification and often works as an expert witness on building disputes and dilapidation's cases where listed buildings and workmanship issues are to the fore. Paul joined Fisher German in February 2016 and he works to strengthen and build the building surveying team. Outside of work Paul is undertaking a long term repair project on a barn in the Dordogne region. He is a keen cyclist and enjoys all things with 2 wheels.

Kay heads up the firm's planning team. Her work involves advice on all planning matters encompassing site appraisals, planning applications, appeals, local plan promotion and enforcement matters. Kay provides both an in-house planning service to the land surveyors, as well as having a variety of external clients. She has particular expertise in residential, rural and renewables planning. Kay joined Fisher German in 2004, having previously worked in both the public and private sectors. Prior to her current position, she worked as an independent planning consultant. Kay was elected a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 1998. Outside work Kay enjoys swimming, skiing and spending time with her two sons.

Sarah is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and an Associate Partner in Fisher German's Planning team. She is leading the Utilities and Renewables Planning team, managing complex planning applications, risks associated with environmental impact assessment and delivering infrastructure projects. Sarah is the key planning contact for Severn Trent, BPA and CLH planning projects. Sarah has considerable private sector experience, having worked at a city centre practice (GVA) for over 10 years. Prior to that, she developed valuable planning skills at a small planning practice and during a short spell in the public sector. Outside work, Sarah loves to travel, socialise and spend time with her family.

Hannah started working for Fisher German as a Graduate in August 2014 and now works as a Planner at the Ashby office, having achieved professional membership of the RTPI in August 2016. Currently, her work focuses on a range of residential planning applications. Hannah also works on land appraisals, project management of sub-consultants, design and access statements and planning statements. Hannah graduated from Newcastle University with a BA in Town Planning in 2012, and following a placement year at Derbyshire Dales District Council, graduated again from Newcastle University with a Diploma in Town Planning in 2014. Originally from Sheffield, Hannah now lives in Leicestershire. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new places, baking and crafts.

Jessica is a Graduate Planner working within the General Practice part of the department. This work comprises the preparation and submission of applications, land appraisals, and research into planning policy updates and changes. Jessica graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2014 with a Joint Honours degree in Geography and Urban & Regional Planning. She has since completed a fully RTPI accredited MSc in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Birmingham, graduating in September 2015 with a distinction. Previously, Jessica has accumulated experience working in the third and private sector primarily in South Wales. Originally from Cardiff, Jessica now lives in Derbyshire. Out of work she enjoys baking, travelling, and is a keen member of the Young Planners West Midlands Committee.

Ross's career in the construction industry started in 2002, and since 2009 has been exposed to different aspects of building surveying work, which culminated in the undertaking and completion of a degree in Building surveying and since 2014 has been working as an Assistant Building Surveyor. Ross's work involves contract administration, design and specification and schedule of conditions. He is well versed in AutoCAD, measured surveys and a large portion of his work is with listed and historic buildings. He is also experienced in a variety of sectors, from education and commercial to domestic. Works undertaken include a range of building regulation and planning applications for adaptations and extensions for domestic clients as well as contract administration for the adaption and refurbishment of a range of listed buildings for the National Trust and project management role for construction project at a secondary school. Residing in South Derbyshire with his young family, Ross has an interest in most sports and enjoys keeping fit.

Ross benefits from four years’ surveying experience, most recently working in London for Savills in a variety of disciplines and sectors, with a particular focus on providing commercial business space asset management advice. He plans to sit his APC in 2017 in the hope of becoming a member of the RICS. Outside of work, Ross enjoys most sports and outdoor pursuits, in particular rugby union, playing for Southwell RFC.

In his spare time, Ben tries to maintain playing various sports, although his knee is close to giving up on him. He is therefore becoming more of a spectator nowadays. He is keen on travelling and visiting new places both at home and abroad and likes to read a good book every once in a while.

Steve is an experienced Architectural Technician who has gained wide experience in all aspects of design, AutoCAD and measured surveys. Steve has in-depth involvement with refurbishments and new developments, including residential units, traditional agricultural buildings and their conversion, commercial units, and the leisure and care sectors. Other areas of work include general building/property surveying, such as for the Education Funding Agency, and build project management, entailing specifications, tendering projects and monitoring site works. A keen squash player, Steve is attempting to climb the league tables at his local club and Off court, he enjoys cooking, playing and listening to music.

Scott is a Chartered Member of the RTPI with a multi-disciplinary background in planning and urban design working within the General Practice Planning Team based in the Ashby office. He has experience assisting and leading on a wide range of major and minor projects, predominantly within the residential, rural and commercial sectors. His role involves advising clients on planning and development opportunities, undertaking site appraisals, the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals alongside addressing other land use and design matters, with a strong record of success. In his spare time Scott is keen to challenge himself and pursue new interests. He is learning to play the violin and working his way through the ABRSM grades. When the opportunity arises, he enjoys visiting operatic and orchestral performances, however, free time is usually taken up with the care of his ex-racehorse. He likes to travel and has a particular interest in Italy’s opulent cuisine, history and culture.

2012. He has experience in landlord and tenancy issues, such as undertaking dilapidations where parties are renewing or leaving a lease. Integral to his role, he also undertakes measured surveys and the subsequent production of drawings using AutoCAD for inclusion in tenders and reports. In addition, he identifies health and safety implications for projects in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Andrew has worked with the Department of Education, producing reports on the current condition of schools to help produce five year maintenance and repair schedules, undertaking surveys on residential and commercial premises for the Environment Agency whilst they undertake flood alleviation schemes and refurbishment works for the Salvation Army and Abbeyfield Care Homes. During his free time, Andrew is a keen follower of all things motorsport, playing football with friends and trying to find time to travel to the local airfield with his father to fly gliders and motor gliders.

Angela is a Chartered Member of the RTPI, with over ten years' professional planning experience in the private sector. She has worked on a wide range of projects including residential, commercial and renewable energy on behalf of national, regional and local housebuilders, businesses, charities and private landowners. Angela is a Local Partner based in the Ashby office, but works out of Fisher Germans other offices on a regular basis. Angela specialises in general practice planning, advising clients on planning and development opportunities, undertaking site appraisals and estate reviews, aligned with preparation and co-ordination of planning applications and appeals. She also prepares and submits applications and appeals for large scale residential developments, undertaking critical analysis of the local planning authority's five year housing land supply, preparing environmental impact assessment (EIA) screening requests and liaising with key stakeholders and the local community. Angela lives in Derbyshire and enjoys long country walks, travelling as far afield as possible visiting new places and spending time with family and friends.

Ian splits his time between the Chester, Knutsford and Stafford offices. He is a Chartered Town Planner, providing planning advice and services in the North West Region. He has worked on a range of planning projects and provided planning consultancy services, which have included undertaking planning appraisals, land promotion through the development plan system and appearing at local plan examinations. Ian has also prepared and submitted various planning applications including residential development, changes of use, lawful development certificates and prior approvals tender permitted development rights. He has public and private sector experience having previously worked in consultation and Local Authority Planning policy. A fluent Welsh speaker, Ian lives in North Wales. He enjoys travelling, running and has a keen interest in cinema, music and the media.

Antonia graduated from Swansea University with an honours degree in Law in 2014, and went on to complete a fully RICS and RTPI accredited MSc in International Planning and Development at Cardiff University, achieving a distinction in 2016. Since then Antonia has worked for a well-known firm in the south, but has recently relocated to Ashby to be closer to friends and family. Outside work Antonia loves cooking, travelling and exploring the countryside with her dogs. She also enjoys rowing and is looking forward to the opportunities that local sports clubs have to offer.
