Former Savills Director joins Fisher German's Nottinghamshire office

Robert hurstRobert Hurst FRICS FAAV joins one of the leading firms of chartered surveyors in the Midlands as a partner with Fisher German LLP.

Originally raised in an agricultural background in East Riding, Yorkshire, Robert studied estate management at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and graduated as a Chartered Surveyor in 1980. His career to date has seen him work for ADAS, Martin Maslins, the William H Brown Group and Savills in Lincoln.

Robert has 28 years' experience as an agricultural valuer and auctioneer working in the East Midlands, Lincolnshire and South Humberside. He is believed to still hold the record for selling grade 1 arable land in the Boston area at £12,500 per acre by auction.

In addition to auctions, Robert specialises in property sales and lettings, farm consultancy and valuations in particular disused RAF stations. He acquired the site for development of Lincoln University which was built in the mid 1990s. 

The University is now rated by The Independent’s Complete University Guide as 'the most improved university in England'  and is the designated equestrian sport training camp for the 2012 Olympics. Robert is an active member of the Lincolnshire Association of Agricultural Valuers and a past president of that Association in 2003.

Married with two daughters, Robert has been based in the Lincolnshire area for over 29 years. Having been a keen rugby player, he now keeps a close association with both Market Rasen and Sleaford Rugby Clubs. A proficient sailor and keen cyclist, Robert is entering the property industry triathlon in July this year.

John Hopkinson and Co based in Newark joined forces with Fisher German this time last year. John comments: “Robert is an experienced, well respected land agent and we are delighted that he has joined the firm. This is part of our plan to expand in this geographical area and we will soon be moving to new offices to accommodate the expansion”. Currently based in Newark, the office covers Grantham, Lincoln, Newark, Nottinghamshire, Market Rasen, Sleaford and Spalding.
