Proposed auction meets spring flush
08/04/2009
Fisher German report a positive reception to the launch of four new properties last week through the Banbury office.
On offer is a bungalow in Tysoe for executors (guide £135,000 – £150,000), a mixed residential and commercial property in the High Street in Byfield (£275,000 - £300,000) and two development sites - one in Roade for a single dwelling (£40,000 - £50,000) and one near Burford for a pair of dwellings (£175,000 – £200,000).
Auctioneer Andrew Ranson says: “After a period of increased interest from purchasers so far this year, we have not generally been disappointed by the numbers of enquiries for our next collective auction.”
14 Poolgate in Tysoe is an attractive detached bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac. The village is a very well served and popular village. “We are receiving a large number of enquiries from both older people, wanting to remain in a rural location, but closer to facilities than they currently are, and from investors who like the village.” Mr Ranson comments.
The Old Shop in the middle of Byfield (pictured) offers an interesting redevelopment opportunity, perhaps to a number of small residential units or perhaps retain it as a shop, barn and annex. The shop has an interesting history, having had a number of uses in the past, including a grocers.
“It will be interesting to see how the development opportunities fare. This market has been devastated by poor finance availability for developers. Values have literally halved in many cases. The auction will be a good test for the market” explains Mr Ranson. “So far the single plot in Roade has seen the most interest out of all the lots, probably due to its relative affordability.”
The auction is to be held on 29 April at 6 00pm at the Banbury Cricket Club.
