Seven lots went under the hammer at Banbury’s latest auction on 27.07.05. This brings the total number of properties sold by the Banbury office this year to 15 for a total value of £4,287,000.

51 High Street, Witney sold for £180,000 and 51A High Street, Witney sold for £100,000. Both the properties in Lower Brailes and Pattishall were withdrawn from the auction, although both have now had sales agreed.

Two 5.5 acres blocks of land on the edge of Wardington sold, one for £48,000 (£8,233 per acre) and the other for £30,000 (£5,455 per acre). Twenty acres of pastureland near Badby, Daventry sold for £94,000 (£4,700 per acre).
Auctioneers Paul Clayson and Charles Haselwood agree ‘Although the market, particularly for residential properties, is relatively quiet, these results prove that auction is still a very successful way of selling the right sort of property.’ Paul Clayson goes on to confirm that the Banbury office has sold almost 90% of the properties it has offered for auction this year.
