RICS Manual
01/07/2005
| In the light of Estate Agents often being seen as being unregulated and untrustworthy, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors has introduced a guide. The guide called the RICS Manual of Estate Agency Law and Practice has been subdivided to cover the main aspects of Estate Agency, particularly focusing on procedures, conduct and general best practise. The guidance manual dubbed by some as the new ‘bible’ for Estate Agents will be regularly updated to keep surveyors up to date with any necessary compliance issues, such as The Residential Estate Agency Practice Statement which is mandatory for all members practising in this sector. |
Matthew Allen of the Banbury office believes that the guide, "Will go some way to improving public confidence in a time when Estate Agents are more unpopular than ever!" - A label which he believes to be highly unjustified in most cases.
