An opportunity to rent, a 'secret' 18th Century garden, together with an historic house of the same era, within the National Trust's Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate near Wilmslow.
The National Trust is offering Quarry Bank House and part of its 8 acre 'secret' garden for a 5 year tenancy commencing in early summer.
Quarry Bank House and its picturesque garden were built in the 18th century by Samuel Greg, the founder of Quarry Bank Mill, a water-powered Georgian Cotton Mill. As was the custom of the early industrial revolution the house was built close to the mill as the mill owners preferred to be close to their wealth.
The National Trust recently acquired the house and are currently undertaking a complete restoration programme. The property briefly comprises:

Note: As a tenant of the National Trust, you will be expected to be sympathetic to the objectives of the Trust. Offers for the rent are invited by informal tender, guided at £3,000 per calander month.
It should be noted that the exterior of the property will be restored to its original colour not white as shown in the picture.
