| The Land Agency contract for the Government Pipeline and Storage System, managed by the Oil and Pipelines Agency, has been awarded to national pipeline specialists Fisher German. The initial three year contract is active from the 1st April 2005, with the potential to extend for a further two years thereafter. This firmly establishes Fisher German as the UK's leading firm of Chartered Surveyors undertaking pipeline management. |
Fisher German initially became involved with managing the northern section of the storage system in 1995. When the contract was renewed in 2000, Fisher German was awarded the southern section, ensuring that they act as land agents managing the whole system, which extends from Falmouth to Inverness.
The GPSS extends to approximately 2,400 kilometres of buried high pressure oil pipeline. Combined with the successful retention in 2004 of the management and maintenance contract for a further 1300 kilometres on behalf of a multi national oil company, Fisher German believes their success is based on innovation and working closely with their clients. "As a firm we are conscious that we need to remain client- focused whilst continually innovating to improve the service that is offered to our clients", states Andrew Bridge of Fisher German. "The renewal of the contract is hopefully recognition of this and all the hard work that has been undertaken by those involved with the contract."
