James works in the farms department and advises on business structure, strategic direction, business reviews and appraisals as well as managing a large number of contract farming and joint venture arrangements. He also advises clients on Single Farm Payment issues as well as EU legislation and Conservation Grant Schemes. James has also been involved in securing Regional Development funding for clients who have undertaken various diversification ventures, the most recent project receiving grant aid of 500,000 Euros.
James is married with two children and is still involved with his family farm in the Vale of Belvoir where he has, over the years, set up commercial units, offices, livery stables, a fishing lake and his wife even has a Beauty Practice on the farm. His interests in rugby and shooting have been put on the ‘back burner’ as he now finds his weekends taken up accompanying his wife and daughter to various Pony Club events and helping to coach the under 9’s rugby team at Newark in which his son is a member.
