Henry Sale managing partner and Richard Sanders partner of the farm management department in Fisher German joined forces with the CLA, Grant Thornton and Hewitsons to speak about important monetary issues which farmers and landowners now need to tackle. The seminar “Will the Chancellor take your inheritance” was held at Whittlebury Hall on 18 September 2007 and was hosted by Alan Wordie, CLA Northamptonshire branch chairman.
The issues faced by farmers and landowners in today’s economic climate are varied and changes brought about by recent budgets and new legislation mean planning for the future is essential. The seminar covered some of the ways in which these issues could be addressed including trusts, valuations, inheritance tax, pensions, investment planning, TRIG, biofuel contracts and the grain market.
Henry Sale comments “these are all very important issues that farmers and landowners should be thinking about now and planning for in the future. The seminar also offered the chance to discuss specific issues with any of the key note speakers and was a perfect opportunity to discuss concerns with professionals who had the audience's best interests at heart”
