Single Payment Scheme

Andrew Ranson of Fisher German's Banbury office flags up "The RPA have just confirmed that the window for the start date of farmer's 10 month period for the Single Payment Scheme shall run between 01 October and 30 April again for the second year of the scheme." 

He continues "Interestingly, a slight alteration to the rules permits farmers, if they wish, to be able to designate two different start dates for different parcels of land on their holding. Both dates must fall between the 01 October 2005  and 30 April 2006 window". 

Claimants of the Single Payment Scheme must have the land they are claiming on at "their disposal" for a period of at least 10 months starting during this window.  Therefore the latest anyone can rent in land or transfer in entitlements will be 30 April 2006.
