Fisher German has smashed its original target of raising £10,000 for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) by completing the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge (2-3 June 2007) within 24 hours. The team also won the trophy for the highest sponsorship raised, with an anticipated total donation in the region of £20,000.
Fisher German entered two teams and out of the 15 teams that took part in total, nine completed the exhausting climb, with Fisher German finishing in sixth and seventh place. “It was a real personal challenge for everyone with many a long hour invested in training,” commented Henry Sale, managing partner of Fisher German. John Palmer, office partner, continues, “It was a far tougher personal challenge than we ever thought it was going to be but we are delighted that both teams completed within the 24 hours. I’m proud to think about the difference the money we have raised will make for the future of these children.”
Fisher German would like to say a massive thank you to all of their clients, colleagues and friends both locally and further a field who gave so generously to these children. With the team covering all their own costs, all monies raised will go directly to the NDCS.
In total the event raised a staggering £109,900 and it’s still not too late to make a donation – please contact Veronica Richards on 01858 41122, email: veronica.richards@fishergerman.co.uk or donate directly online at http://www.justgiving.com/fg3peaks
Further Background information
“Every day in the UK three babies are born deaf and most are born to hearing parents with no experience of deafness. The NDCS is the only UK charity solely dedicated to the support of deaf children and young people, their families, and professionals working with them and is funded almost entirely through public donations. Our work would not be possible without the commitment of people like the Fisher German team.”
