Fisher German Continue to March Ahead

06/10/2005

Tower bridgeSarah from Fisher German’s Worcester office recently completed a 60-kilometre walk in aid of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.

The Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer saw over 2,000 people take to the streets of London in a bold attempt to fight against breast cancer.

Sarah was prompted to take up the cause when her best friend’s mother was recently diagnosed with the cancer.

Participants had to raise a minimum of £1,500 to partake in the walk.  Sarah organised a raffle with a top prize of a holiday to the Isle of Mull (see Kellan Mill on www.littleholidayhouses.com).

The draw took place on Friday 30th September and Sarah said ‘It was so exciting when the draw finally took place after months of frantically selling as many tickets as possible.  The winner was over the moon when I rang and told her. It made all the effort worthwhile!’

Second prize was a pair of tickets to an executive box at Chepstow Racecourse courtesy of HFT Forklifts, and third prize was a case of Orchard Bull cider kindly donated by Ashgrove Orchards.

Sarah successfully managed to raise well over the required amount and in total the weekend raised in excess of £5.1million for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Sarah continues, “The walk was hard work – I’ve still got the blisters to remind me, but it was definitely worth it.  It’s a wonderful feeling being part of something so big that really will make a difference. Raising the money was the hardest bit and I would like to say a big thank you to all those who have supported me over the last couple of months – sorry you couldn’t all win the raffle!”
