27/03/2007

ShootingYan Gittins, Local Partner in the firm’s Worcester office explained “Matching existing clients and owners of landed estates with the ever increasing demand for new and varied sporting challenges from private individuals and syndicates is our primary objective.”

Working alongside Yan will be Richard Hutcheon, recently appointed to the Worcester office rural team, who brings with him a detailed knowledge of the sporting market from his own website based agency set up in the west country some years ago.

Richard commented “The UK is renowned throughout the world for the quality of its driven shooting, and Fisher German provides some of the finest, if not the best, examples of shooting on its managed estates.  With the emphasis now increasingly on quality not quantity, the agency will be able to offer shooting for all abilities from the novice to the experienced gun seeking out sporting and challenging birds.”

In contrasting estate and farm locations throughout the country the shooting backdrop will range from steep sided valleys through cover crops in rolling landscapes, to open moorland.  Driven pheasant and partridge in mixed bags of 50 to 400 bird days will be on offer, subject to availability good value “walked up” days, including woodcock and snipe, with duck flighting will also be available.

The choice of fishing ranges from wild trout in the south west of England to some of the best hill loch fishing in Scotland.  Depending upon availability the rivers include salmon fishing on the Scottish Tay and Tweed, the Welsh Dee, and the Irish Blackwater and Moy.  Trout fishing can be found on the west country Rivers Dart, Taw and Torridge, with trout and winter grayling in the beautiful southern chalk streams of the Test and Wylye.

The sporting agency will be based in Fisher Germans Worcester office and Yan Gittins concluded “With Richards expertise in letting shooting and fishing, and my knowledge of the wide range of sporting opportunities on the firms managed estates throughout the UK, we will be able to respond to the demands of our landed clients to diversify and expand their sporting enterprises, and satisfy the growing demand for varied and challenging sporting experiences.”
