Auctions Galore!
We have continued to develop our collective property auctions in 2006 – some 12 lots in Northampton in April; 14 lots in Market Harborough in June; three lots in Towcester in July; our first auction in Cheshire; plus numerous other sales around the country. It all tells the story of a rapidly expanding activity for Fisher German. Highlights have included 160 acres of bare land fetching £1,010,000; pony paddocks regularly at or above £20,000 per acre; and a site with planning permission realising the equivalent of £140 per square foot.
Also a good example of how sale by auction can generate a real ‘focus’ in everyone’s mind is the sale of a house and land with no mains services. Another agent had failed to make a sale in just under a year by private treaty. Our sale by auction was achieved in about the same time as it took to buy the round of drinks afterwards!
