Corporate social responsibility
Corporate social responsibility is fundamental in the way we do business. We are constantly aware of the needs of our employees, marketplace, community and the environment.
At Fisher German we feel strongly about supporting and giving something back to our people and the wider community by:
- encouraging our team to get involved in the local community with projects such as ‘Right to Read’ and business mentoring for young people in The Prince’s Trust as well as mentoring services to Northamptonshire Fresh Start Academy and training and speaker events for new entrants into farming
- several members of our team offer professional academic support to graduates. We also offer work experience placements to young people to teach them about working as a chartered surveyor
- having a team of renewable energy experts makes us very aware of how our actions can affect the environment and we encourage responsible use of resources through recycling paper and waste, using recycled paper for marketing materials, using energy efficient light bulbs in offices, taking responsibility for business travel and limiting this where possible
- advising on renewable energy projects including wind energy, anaerobic digestion, solar power, biomass heating schemes and woodland plantations
- our farms team are in continuous consultation with farmers and landowners on how to implement conservation techniques on their land
- promoting team spirit and raising funds for nominated charities through annual challenges ranging from the 3 Peaks Challenge in 2007, Hadrian’s Wall in 2009 through to the Welsh 3000s in June 2010
- developing our team through a continuous professional development programme in place for all our trainee surveyors
